Regenerative Wool

This multi-year project rebuilt a wool supply chain from farm level , working directly with a regenerative merino farmer group from land and animal through processing into finished garments and interior products.

The work included evaluation of multiple farmer groups and supplier networks for the business case. Criteria covering regenerative land management, animal welfare, processing transparency, and traceability infrastructure.

ZQ Merino's ZQRX programme was selected as the wool partner, meeting the standard required across regenerative practice, quality, price and verified chain of custody.

Implementation lead to a shorter supply chain and building a direct relationship between farmers and brand. A key outcome was not only more granular emission data and high level of transparency on how the farmers worked. One of the highlights for us was the workshop we organised bringing the brand's design and production teams together with the farmers. It created a connection and more respect between the people who tend the land and raise the animals and the teams utilising this in the design process.
