Farm to Product - Leather

This multi-year project rebuilt a leather supply chain from farm level - tracing hides from Nordic farms through processing into finished accessories products.

Multiple supplier networks were evaluated and Scan Hide was the selected raw hide partner. Scan Hide is a Scandinavian supplier with its own tannery in Denmark, offering verified provenance and processing transparency built in through laser technology.

Leather is one of the oldest industries in the world, and one of the most complex to navigate - particularly around tracebility, animal welfare, CO2 data, impact accounting, and how environmental costs are calculated and attributed across the supply chain.

Despite this we launched a high end group of products utilising European supply chain. Pilot and proof of concept achieved with Indian finished tannery and production before we handed over the project to internal resource for scaling. We got primary emission data and verification of the animal welfare standard. Compliant with future EUDR legislation and beyond.
