Business Model and Fiber Innovation Programme
Research to Pre-Market
This programme tackled a set of overlapping questions, about materials, end-of-life behaviour, coloration and finishing, and the business models needed to make new approaches viable at scale.
The work spanned three areas.
Next gen fibers and material innovations pushing the material strategy of the company forward.
Colorants and coatings explored lower-impact dyeing and finishing approaches, including safer chemistry and new functional properties.
Innovative business models, exploration of new commercial frameworks, repair, on demand production, take-back, and resale, that make circularity economically viable.
Some workstreams ran in parallel, feeding into each other. Others stood alone. All followed the same structure:
Landscape mapping, supplier identification, and viability assessment; prototype development, contract testing, and iteration against performance and sustainability criteria; and translation of validated innovations into production-ready solutions and business model frameworks prepared for market.
Each work stream was developed to pre-market readiness, with the research, testing, and implementation groundwork in place for the client to take forward into commercial launch.
